Rock Hill, SC – Clinton College celebrated the opening of its center, Academic Center for Excellence, on Saturday, May 6, 2023, with a ribbon cutting and dedication prior to commencement. This new center is the first to be built on the campus of Clinton College since 2005.
"This was a historical moment in the life of Clinton College as this is our first new building since 2005 and our first strictly academic building in 70 years," said Dr. Lester McCorn, President of Clinton College. "This building will be multi-purpose but certainly advance the mission of excellence in academics."
The 7,178-square-foot building includes classrooms, office and conference spaces, a choir room, a writing lab, and the new nursing lab.
“The Academic Center for Excellence is a center for the creation of minds using an innovative and servant leadership approach," said Dr. Toneyce Randolph, Vice President of Academic Services. "This center will continue the fight to eradicate the stigma behind accessibility and quality of education at historically black colleges and universities.”
