August 22, 2024

The WACH Institute is delighted to welcome our new Community Health Coordinators - Sarah Beth Sisney and Naomi Kemp.

Sarah Beth Sisney is a dedicated public health professional committed to advancing health equity and promoting wellness across diverse communities. She holds a Master of Public Health from UNC Charlotte and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Winthrop University. With a strong background in public health and a passion for advocacy, Sarah Beth strives to bridge the gap between community needs and effective health interventions.

Her work is centered on creating inclusive and sustainable health initiatives that empower individuals and communities to lead happier, healthier lives. Sarah Beth is particularly focused on ensuring that the voices of those most impacted by health disparities are heard and respected in the decision-making process.

Passionate about driving policy, systems, and environmental changes, Sarah Beth seeks to create long-lasting impacts in the places where people live, work, and play. Her work reflects a commitment to not just addressing immediate health concerns but also fostering the conditions for long-term community well-being.

Naomi Kemp is passionate about expanding health literacy and access to preventative health services in the community.

Raised in Fort Mill, SC, she earned her BS in Biological Sciences from the University of South Carolina with honors from the South Carolina Honors College. Studies in medical humanities lead to her involvement in infectious disease education and HIV advocacy, assisting in risk reduction planning and broadening the community’s access to wellness and health management resources.

She believes in the importance of narrative medicine and using a person’s story to paint a picture of their health beyond symptoms and labs. Outside of work, Naomi practices and teaches yoga, enjoys reading with a good cup of tea, and collecting vintage goods.
