About Admissions
First Time in College Students:
Application Procedure for Freshman Admission Clinton College welcomes freshmen, whether you are a recent high school graduate or a person who has been working for a period of time after graduating from high school.
Students seeking undergraduate admission to Clinton College for the first time should complete the application for undergraduate admission, which is available online at Apply to Clinton College | Pursue Your Future With Us or from the Office of Admissions. In order to be accepted for admission in Clinton College, a prospective applicant must have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate and have taken either the SAT or ACT (scores only matter in terms of scholarships, but are required to have been taken to be admitted).
To apply for admission, please submit all the following:
- A completed application
- Copies of your SAT and/or ACT scores
- An official high school transcript or GED score (minimum GPA of at least a 2.5)
Students with a 2.5 GPA or higher will be offered Unconditional Admission. Unconditional admission usually will be granted to applicants who, based on a holistic review of application materials, show strong potential for academic success in college-level work. Unconditionally Admitted students are considered as fully admitted students.
The College also grants conditional admission to applicants who do not clearly meet the requirements (under a 2.5 GPA) for unconditional admission, but who demonstrate the potential to successfully complete degree requirements at Clinton College. Students admitted conditionally are required to attend the Summer Bridge Program, which is an academic enrichment program designed to give students a “jumpstart” on the academic career at the College. Any student offered conditional admission must pass all the courses offered during the Summer Bridge. Once the student has successfully completed the Summer Bridge program, their admission will move to Unconditional status for the subsequent term.
Digital transcripts must be sent directly from home school or from an agency such as Parchment, Clearinghouse, or Scribbs.
Priority Deadline: Official Transcripts received by August 1st for the Fall and January 1st for the Spring. Submission of Application Inquiries and applications for admission should be made to the Office of Admissions, Clinton College, 1029 Crawford Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina 29730. You may also make inquiries online by visiting www.clintoncollege.edu
Once you complete the application for admission to Clinton College, you are able to check the status of your application by going to the Student Services Portal and entering the user ID and password that is emailed to you once you have completed the application.
